Give one, get one the $100 laptop

I remember reading about this for the first time last year. Very interesting idea … a simple, inexpensive, solar powered laptop to help children in developing countries.

And now, I guess as a way to get some funds flowing, they’re offering a limited opportunity to get one for your own family when you make your donation:

Starting November 12, One Laptop Per Child will be offering a Give 1 Get 1 Program for a brief window of time. For $399, you will be purchasing two XO laptops—one that will be sent to empower a child to learn in a developing nation, and one that will be sent to your child at home.

I’ve got to get my kids something cool for Christmas anyway … and this way, I also get to do something good for others at the same time. Sounds win-win to me.
