I guess this means I’ve hit the big time ???

Yesterday I checked my email and saw a little note from google

We recently discovered that some of your pages can cause users to be
infected with malicious software.

I went to the page they indicated. No problems on my Macbook Pro. But on my Windows laptop, sure enough the anti-virus auto protection kicked right in. My blog page was trying to install some sort of downloader.

I have no idea how it happened, but this isn’t the first weird thing on that domain lately. A couple of weeks ago, I got a few hundred messages saying that email “I sent” had been detected and captured by spam filters. I changed my email password, and it seems to have stopped.

Anyway, with this new problem, I think it’s just time to pack up and start all over.

I actually have two accounts with Host Gator … Candlemonkey.com and a few others were on one account. This domain and two other were on this one. I’m just going to move them all over here. I do interlink a few of my blogs, but since they are already on the same Google webmastertools and analytics accounts, I don’t think I’ll be losing too much (if anything) SEO wise by having them on the same IP.

I deleted the blog page, so the Candle Monkey site should be safe to visit. But, there’s a chance it may be down for a little while this weekend while I move it over to the new account.

So, what sort of security issues have you had with your blogs?

… and do you have any good advice for me, so it doesn’t happen again?

Thanks in advance,
Todd

Update:
CandleMonkey.com is now over on a totally different server, with a brand new wordpress install. So there should be no more problems.
