In the course of switching webhosts over the past week, I also had the opportunity to discover a couple of new (at least to me)wordpress plugins.
This first one has already proven to be very useful, and even saved me some money (right before I found it, I almost purchased a program that does essentially the same thing …
Redirection - Does just what it says. Allows you to set up custom 301 redirects. I used this to help migrate some of the more popular post on my old blog. In addition, all of my affiliate links will be set up using this plug-in. Many more features which you can learn about at the website linked above.
The other plug-in is more for fun, but could also prove useful if you’re like me, and tend to be a bit fickle about themes.
Theme Preview - Allows you to see what a different theme will look like on your site, without having to actually activate it. Here are a couple of examples for my site:
http://successwithtodd.com/?preview_theme=rockinweb20-3col-1_mod
or …
http://successwithtodd.com/?preview_theme=cutline-3-column-right-11
(Update: after playing with this last plugin a few times, I actually decided to change the theme to Elegant Blue … my old theme is now the first link above)
Hope you find these helpful.
Keep havin FuN!
Todd
