Doing my little part for the environment

By todd • on October 16, 2007

earth.jpgWell, I’m not a big time blogger yet, but I still wanted to do my part for blog action day.

In today’s fast paced society, doing the right thing for our planet is almost as hard (if not harder), as doing the right things for ourselves. But just like starting a diet or an exercise program, taking the first step to get the ball rolling, and doing what we can, is much better than doing nothing at all.

Here are a few baby steps that all of us can easily take …

  • Turn the air conditioner up a couple of degrees, and/or open your windows
  • Walk or ride your bike to the convenience store, instead of hopping in the car
  • Buy a filter for your tap water, and a thermos as an alternative to bottled water
  • Turn off the lights and open your curtains during the day; sunlight is free and clean
  • Take the extra couple of minute each day to recycle paper, plastic and bottles
  • Teach your kids about the importance of conservation

Just a couple of quick ideas. Remember, the most important thing is to do what you can … and start today!

p.s. this post was written on October 15th here in Hawaii, but my blog was still set to Iraq time, so it showed up as the 16th.

Use non toxic cleaning products. This is a small act you can do, that makes a HUGE impact on all.

Shaklee has the best products, receiving many kudos from celebrities and “green” companies alike.
